Sam's First Bath

We gave Sam his first bath in his bathtub today (as opposed to the sponge baths we've been giving him up to this point). He was a little hesitant at first, but then he really loved the warm water!

Sam enjoys looking at himself in the mirror. We're not sure if he knows it's him or if he just thinks he made a new baby friend.

All clean and dry!

He learned how to suck his thumb today. Good or bad?

  1. I sucked my thumb and it ended up costing my parents $$$$ in orthodontics and fancy devices to get me to stop. Neither of my kids ever tried (other than the occasional time their thumb found their mouth for a minute or two), but then again they were both addicted to pacifiers. The good thing about a pacifier is that you can throw it in the trash when you're done; you can't do that with a thumb! The bad thing about pacifiers is that they fall out of the crib in the middle of the night and make babies mad; thumbs don't fall out of cribs. My niece tried sucking her thumb, and her parents pulled it out every time she tried so that she wouldn't become a thumb-sucker. Who knows!
