Is It Really Innate?

I got home from work yesterday and said, "Sammy, Mommy's home."  No response.  "Sam."  Nothing.  "Sammy, it's Mommy.  Hello hello?"  No response.  No clue anyone was talking to him.  He was watching the Patriots, engrossed.  It starts this early???
